Component 1: Writing Analysis Growth Narrative Throughout the semester growth can be seen in my writing from the Into the Wild prep work that demonstrates my starting point to the final Into the Wild Essay that demonstrates my improvement. The prep work was one of the very first assignments of the year and I particularly struggled within the section “Reasoning” and more specifically, “building my language through cause and effect language.” After writing this assignment, I wanted to focus on building a more articulate analysis through my reasoning by using “if/then” statements. My first draft contained the statement, “Krakauer’s repetition of the word “relieved,” indicates how isolation was comforting to McCandless (55).
My first revision was to put “The purpose of this article was for the author, Emily Heyer, to express her thoughts and opinions for gay marriage, and to share her views on why Iowa should have been pro gay marriage in 2011.” as the second sentence and make it flow. In the second paragraph it seems to me that I just summarized her work which wasn 't exactly part of the assignment. I went back and added the types of strategies she uses while writing her article and how they connect to the emotions of the reader and it affected the reader 's train of thought.
In Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates we get to see the author’s struggle of obtaining freedom from society even in millennial times because of his skin color. We learn through the letter written for his son that although times have changed many people still believe in the old ideas of race and hierarchy. Coates explains the different approaches he has to parenting compared to those of his father. His father use corporal punishment on Coates to keep him out of trouble or when he disobeyed the house rules, implemented by both of his parents, however, Coates decided violence is not the answer to solving problems and educating his children. In section two of Ta-nehisi Coates book “Between the World and Me,” he moves forward to discuss the evident issue of social justice. I feel section two of the text is the climax of the book. Coates elaborates on the event that had taken place when he was arrested for no reason which made him aware of his body being vulnerable while sharing the anger of Prince Jones death, he expresses that Jones should not have been subjected to such an absurd death, which was committed by a black person. Jones had all the aspects of a well-rounded African American such as, highly educated and not involved in the streets. Realistically, no black man is not safe of the violent vagaries performed by the police; a black man body can be destroyed at any given time.

The purpose of my writing is to provide a Rhetorical Analysis on the article “Multiculturalism Should Be Promoted.” My audience is readers that haven’t read “Multiculturalism Should Be Promoted” and try to provide them with a complete analysis of the article for them to completely understand and visualize what the article discusses. My writing process started off as writing the essay, but not clearly understanding what the article meant. After my first draft I had to really figure out what I wanted to say about the article, uncertain if I was writing on how the article was effective or not I choose to write about both sides, which resulted horribly. In Between the World and Me, the author, Ta Nehisi Coates, attempts to show how school systems work to support systems of oppression. As he reflects on his own personal experiences in the Baltimore public school system, Coates views his education as one that works to prolong social injustice and inequality. Coates grew up in Baltimore and attended public schools before going to Howard University. Throughout the book, he explains how the system was and still is unjust. Coates explains the situation he grew up in and how he always felt trapped in his classrooms.

Unit 3 Reflection Paper In this unit I learned about the significant impact that genocide had on Rwanda and Sierra Leone. Knowing that Africa has been effected by genocide, I learned more about the subject than I had ever known. That’s why when it was time for my two documented essays I thought about some of the things I have learned from my writing journals and I read the peer reviews to have a better understanding on how to make my paper better. Once the time came Alex had to prove that all of her training paid off. For me that day was the day our Capstone essays were due. Literacy Narrative Essay Well, there are many things that made me the reader and writer I am, only a few important events had huge impacts on me. The Process of Reflection The process of reflection is central to clinical supervision. Launer (2003) describes external and internal factors in supervision whereby clinical practice and sharing skills are external and reflection is an ‘internal conversation.’ Brunero & Stein-Parbury (2008) discussed the effects of clinical supervision in nursing staff and argued that self-reflection generates a sense of self-awareness and knowledge to the individual. Supervisees or students may be asked what happened during a clinical event, how they felt, the implications of their actions and what they would do differently if faced with the same situation.
