The cereal box assignment taught me about how companies want to sell their products at any costs. For example, if you are a person who likes to eat only healthy foods, companies will make their products more expensive and colorful, so people don’t care that it’s that expensive at all, all they care about that it’s healthy. Don’t get me wrong, I think eating healthy is right, but it’s what companies are doing to get people to buy their products is what I believe to be wrong. The context is why news reporters or newspapers have headlines, who said what, where they got their information, and they also give readers a background picture of what they are reporting. Writing style is what words, what sentence structure, and what paragraphs you choose to use to convey your meaning. The hardest part of writing style to me would be my sentence structure and what paragraphs to use. Words use to be hard for me, but now that is not that hard anymore. A genre is many different kinds of texts like essays, laboratory reports, case studies, book reviews, and so on these are usually referred to as genres. So far the only genres that I have done are essays for school and book reviews for myself. A genre I always thought was like the type of genre in movies, but now I know two things it can mean. I will be using what I have learned in my future writing assignments. One thing from doing the last two assignments is I have learned how to be clearer.
