A Man of Faith Who has preached to 210 million people through a live audience? Billy Graham is best known as the most inspirational television Christian Evangelist and the “President’s Pastor.” Through his powerful messages and his great connection with God, Billy Graham is one of the greatest men of faith there has ever been. William Franklin Graham ,Jr. was born on November 7, 1918 to William and Morrow Graham in Charlotte, North Carolina. Graham was raised in Charlotte with his four siblings (Bio.com). Billy Graham and his family lived on their dairy farm during the time of the depression. He learned the importance of hard work but also found an interest in reading books with a variety of subjects (Evangelistic Association). During Graham’s teen years, he started to attend Mordecai Fowler Ham’s revival meetings in which he learned of his own sins and rebellion. At the age of sixteen, Billy Graham accepted Jesus Christ into his life, which was very odd because his parents were strict Calvinists (Bio.com). Billy and Ruth Graham had five children: Franklin Graham, Ned Graham, Bunny Graham, Gigi Graham, and Anne Graham Lotz. He was blessed that the Lord let him have his family. Aside from his family, Billy had many of friends, including Johnny Cash and Donald Trump. He got to be close friends with many of the presidents and became known as the “President’s Pastor” because he has led the inauguration prayer since Harry S. Truman (“Biography.”) Graham gave his last sermon on his 95th birthday on November 7, 2013. The family told ABC News that this would be his final message.
