Success, like most things, is the result of hard work and dedication. In acclaimed geobiologist Hope Jahren’s memoir Lab Girl, Jahren aims for scientific success through work and commitment. A geobiology professor at the University of Hawaii, Hope Jahren studies plants and is known for her work in analysing fossil forests. Due to her hard work and dedication, She has received many awards and recognition, such as three Fulbright awards, a Donath medal, and the Macelwane Medal. In Lab Girl by Hope Jahren, my understanding of the drive to succeed is confirmed through Jahren’s perseverance and risks to achieve success.

I immediately began to volunteer throughout the museum. While I loved every aspect of the museum, there was something extra special about the aquarium: dim lights, exotic creatures, the sounds of splashing water, the faint smell of ocean salt. I spoke to Rebecca, the Aquarium Curator, who was able to see just how passionate I was and invited me to spend more time in the aquarium. She first assigned me basic duties like cleaning fingerprints off the glass and filling up buckets of water. But before long, I was offered the opportunity to return to where it all started – the touch
Introduction As a student that earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology, I have always had an interest in science, research, and health. Because of this general interest in all living things, and how they interact with each other, most of my adult life has been spent working in healthcare settings, trying to figure out where and how to use this knowledge. I took a short break after earning my Bachelors degree before deciding to work towards my Masters degree. During this break, I became increasingly interested in environmental issues, such as the safety of the food I feed my family, climate change, pollution issues, and the spread of diseases.
Trait Theory: Biological Trait theory categorizes people on the basis of their skin color, ethnicity, gender, and their body built. In this case, Mr Obkuku is a built black male, a mesomorph. Well known stereotype that people with darker skin tend to commit more crimes; especially trafficking narcotics and theft.
There is so much life here, he thought, and so many secrets. It would be a shame to lose all this to callous loggers and industrialization. Advance science and medical research depends upon the findings within a tropical rainforest. New bugs, new plants, new trees, and on rare occasion a new species of animal can be found here. Any good biologists, botanists, geneticists, medical scientists, microbiologists, and zoologists knows that a possible cure for cancer may lie just under the bark of a mysterious tree waiting to be discover or the world 's most deadly virus waiting to kill
Jack Hanna is one of the most distinguished zoologists to ever work in the field. Jungle Jack is an expert who has been working with animals his entire life, ever since he was a young boy growing up on the family farm in Tennessee. His purpose in writing his autobiography was to educate people about animals, and ultimately, generate interest in their conservation, both at the zoo and in the wild. Throughout the book, one can see that Jack Hanna’s vocation is his passion for animals. Not only has Jungle Jack dedicated his life to raising awareness and conserving animals for future generations, but he also supports humanitarian efforts to teach people to preserve their environment.

My academic goals after I graduated from UC Irvine is to achieve a higher education beyond a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Sciences. I have set going to dental school as a primary goal after graduating. My goal is to eventually obtain a D.D.S (Doctor of Dentist Surgery) degree. Working towards a specialty is an interest that I am very curious in pursuing; however, as of now becoming a general dentist is my main goal. What factor(s) made you interested in studying in the Biological/Biomedical School:
I am applying for honors biology for many reasons. I believe that it would help to boost my academic experience, would help me out overall, and I love hands on projects. In high school I am really trying to challenge myself with my academics and social skills, so I thought that applying for biology would be a perfect fit. For example, I believe that honors biology would really help me work on my time management skills and since the class has a lot more expectations it would also help me hold myself more accountable. I also think that joining an honors science class in the first year will help me throughout the rest of the time I spend at CHS, in both future science classes and even others.
I am studying a Psychology degree and this field I have chosen really interests me because I have a passion for helping people. Generally, I am that type of person to put other's happiness and well-being before my own, because it makes me feel like I have a sense of purpose. Also, since I was a little girl I have always been so fascinated with the way people interact, behave, think and feel. I always asked 'why?' and I still do to this very day.
As a dreamer and queer woman of color, pursuing a career in STEM has been quite challenging. But I have never let anything get in the way of reaching my goals and dreams. I have swam against the current in order to be where I am today, where I have dreamt of being. I am currently a second year student at Trinity Washington University majoring in biochemistry and minoring in mathematics. I am a dedicated student and an analytical and skilled critical thinker who is eager to learn.
To Graduate Committee Admission of Biochemistry and Cell Biology Program of Rice University: My inclination to study biology comes to me since I was little boy. I always found amazing the capabilities of living beings and mechanisms that allow life, development and evolution of organisms. Particularly interesting were my first approaches to microbiology in early classes in high school. My fascination by biological sciences was such that it led me to win the National Biology Contest held in Cuba, my native country in 2004. This was one of my first academic achievements in my short career and allowed me to directly enter the best pre-university school in my country.
At the young age of five I had my first introduction to the field of medicine. At the time, my father was a radiological technician at the local hospital. If my father was on call for the radiology department and my mother was also working, he had but no choice to bring me to the hospital when called. I clearly recall being intrigued by the real skeleton that hung in the office. It excited me to watch the X-ray slides come out of a machine and yet show human bones.
PERSONAL STATEMENT (NURFATIN BT MOHD SHAH) I want to further my study in this course because it is thrilling and rapidly- moving subject area, that is highly pertinent to the problem facing by society today. As far as I concern, cardiovascular disease is one of the popular cause of death. I am keen to learn more and involve in the latest advances in cardiovascular research. Over the years of studying, my interest in this area has increased.
