Birth order is a part of life that no one can change, but birth order can change a person’s outlook on life. Studies have shown that first born children tend to be reliable and achievers. Second born children tend to be more of a people pleaser and somewhat rebellious. The last born child is more likely to outgoing, as well as manipulative (Hartshorne). Birth order can affect a person’s outlook, attitude, and worldview. First, the first born is usually known for his or her achievements. The middle child gets all kinds of different scenarios when it comes to responsibilities. The middle child is often described as “understanding, cooperative and flexible, yet competitive” (Gross). There is also a lot of controversy on whether or not the middle child gets enough attention. As a middle child, he or she will receive the least amount of attention from family.
