Through her use of a changing narrative perspective, Margaret Laurence creates a contrast in character development. Laurence shows the reader the male protagonist of the story, Chris, through the eyes of a child first, then of an adolescent, and finally through an adult’s eyes. At the beginning of “Horses of the Night,” the narrator, Vanessa notices that Chris looks completely oblivious towards Vanessa’s Grandfather’s belligerence, as he is displaying “no sign of feeling anything.” This is the first sign Laurence provides about Chris escaping in order to cope with reality. Next, when Vanessa visits Shallow Creek she comes to a realization that most of the stories Chris has shared with her about the farm, only exists “in some other dimension.”

At first, he gives us the oppositions against the president Donald Trump, since he is considering “delisting” monuments on Katahdin, and as he does this, he uses pathos in an adequate way to persuade his audience. Secondly, Powers indicates the further authorization that Donald Trump is taking throughout his presidency, no other president had ever taken, and as he does this, he brings credible evidence to support his argument and make it credible.
In the book Biggie, by Derek Sullivan, it takes place in a small town in Iowa called Finch, where almost everyone plays sports. Biggie however, is an overweight kid who sits at a computer desk during all of his free time. Biggie eventually meets a girl named Annabelle, who he falls in love with right away. Biggie goes to gym class one day and throws a perfect game in wiffle ball and then is pushed by his brother and his mom to try out for the school baseball team. Throughout most of the book Biggie is in love with Annabelle, although at the end of the book, Biggie ends up meeting a different girl named Courtney that he ends up falling in love with.
I read W. Bruce Cameron’s novel A Dog’s Purpose. This book has 180 pages. According to a customer review on Amazon,”Definitely a MUST have book.” I believe that A Dog’s Purpose is for ages 10+. The reason why I think that is because there are a few sad events and some violence that kids may not like.
Deers are a symbol of sensitivity and can further be defined as a compassionate animal. To put it differently, a deer symbolizes me because I am a highly sensitive teenager that is emotionally reactive and easily affected by the energy and moods of others. As an example, when my parents get mad at me, I uncontrollably start to cry because I cannot bear the feeling of them being disappointed in me. I also sob in Nicholas Sparks movies because I feel sympathy for the characters and apply the plot to my own life. Moreover, kindness is an additional trait a deer represents and I graciously consider myself a kind person.

Most people my age have a passion for playing sports, but my passion in life is a little different than most. I grew up living on a farm and being around cattle ever since I could walk has been apart of my life, which brought me to one of the reasons why I have a passion for showing cattle. People often wonder why I love showing cattle so much and what the point of it is, but there are so many reasons why I have grown the love for it. In order for you to understand the meaning of their religion you have to grow up submersed in the beliefs,practices, and know the traditions of any tribe. It’s something really different, it isn’t the same as becoming a born-again Christian or converting to judaism. Each tribute and peoples had their own unique beliefs,legends, and rituals, but they all believed the world was filled with spirits.
