Brendon Marrocco, from Staten Island, New York, enlisted in the United States Army on January 15, 2008. He was sent to Fort Benning, Georgia, for basic training the following May. After completion, Marrocco volunteered to serve in the Army Infantry and was assigned to the 3rd Brigade, Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 27th Regiment of the 25th Infantry Division based at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. In late October 2008, as a private first class, Marrocco’s unit deployed to Iraq, where he was stationed at Forward Operating Base Summerall, to serve a twelve-month deployment. All but one of these cases has been contracted through travel to Zika-infected areas. Over 400 of these confirmed cases involve pregnant women, seventeen of who have given birth to babies with birth defects and five of which have resulted in lost pregnancies.

Even though we live in the era of gender and racial ‘equality’ the issue of sex inequality is still ‘on’ and still not resolved. Emma Watson’s speech has inspired many women as well as men. It also has inspired me to shift my focus from the influence of David Hume’s text on the E.H. Carr, to the role of feminism and women during the period of Enlightenment.
The American political culture includes diverse themes that bond the citizens of the United States. However, the themes of the American government can simultaneously contrast one another. For instance, the ideas of liberty and populism can function in harmony under certain circumstances, yet the two ideas can conflict with one another in further situations. Liberty, the state of being free, is often associated with independence; this important concept is also associated with the first amendment and freedom that the country honors tremendously, and countless foreigners strive to achieve it. On the other hand, populism, the belief that the majority of the people should control the government rather than a small group, can be associated with the mob rule, yet populism is meant for the people having the freedom of participating and influencing the government.
