Black Lives Matter and Racially Motivated Police Brutality During the year of 2012 in Sanford, Florida a 16-year-old black male wearing hoodie by the name of Trayvon Martin was gunned down. His killer was a man who did the neighbor watch for the subdivision community. This was going to become one of the biggest controversies in history. This case would spark up in the black community in America and affected make people in the black community. The black community showed outrage when the killer of Trayvon Martin was set free and acquitted of murder and dropped charges, it was then that the Black Lives Matter organization would evolve becoming a big identity it is today. All the Black Lives Matter organization want is support and help to seek for justice in the killings of innocent black people and want justice served to their killers getting away with obvious murder. This organization is a legitimate organization and they stand by what they do for their communities for example during the shootings of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown they worked hard on social media, gathering as much supporters as they could to protest, they also signed petitions on new reforms and laws to submit to the state. It clearly shows they are not doing this for fun, fame or money; they are doing this because they care. If they didn’t care this organization wont have been formed.
On the main page of the Black Lives Matter website it shows a link to an article of what the FBI claims the organization is up, and how the Black Lives Matter organization is up to no good claiming this organization is a terror threat to the country. The government labeled the activists and supporters “black identity extremists”.
