In the book Heart Of Darkness by Joseph Conrad one of the main themes that was present through the book was the idea of mistreating and abusing the natives of the Congo. The Movie I would write would be about outsiders coming into somebody else’s country and abusing it for its resources. The movie would present this in a much more modern way, I would use “Blood Diamonds” as a way to symbolize and show some of the themes that where present through out the book. The current situation in Africa in regards to Blood Diamonds is a perfect way to show how people from other countries come and take advantage of the people living in these areas and how it can affect the people involved in it.

The man has been working for a diamond company for may years when for the first time he is sent to actually get the diamonds he needs in person. During this journey the main character will travel to Africa from Belgium to get the diamonds he needs from a mine his company uses to get these diamonds. This part of the journey would represent the part of the book when Marlow first goes to the company and is sent to the Congo to assist the company in what they where doing in the Congo. Once he arrived the man would meet with the insurgents and would travel with them to a location where he would then meet the man his company is in contact with, this would represent Marlow’s arrival at the lower station. Similar to Marlow’s experience the main character would meet a man that appeared to be very affluent and out of place. After meeting with this man the main character would venture with a group of men into the combat zone to go to the mine to collect his diamonds, it is at this time the man begins to see the affects this business has on the people of these countries. As he travels to the mine the man has to stop and meet with different commanders of the military group he is buying from, this is where he sees for the first time a direct consequence of what he is doing.
