Blue Whale: The blue whale is a large animal and might seem scary, but they are known as gentle giants. They are not actually blue, but closer to a gray color. Did you know they are an endangered species? People used to hunt them for their blubber and oil. Today they are being protected so they don’t go extinct or disappear. Although they are such big animals, their diet mainly consists of small animals called krill. Blue whales do not have teeth so they swallow their food. They have to eat over 4 tons of krill a day to get their fill! Blue whales are known to live in all the oceans. They mostly travel alone or in groups of 2-4 whales.
