In general, the Bald Eagle has 40-50, most around a range of 45 years in the wilderness to explore the world and find an area that they would like to live in.
We really don’t know much about Owl-Eyes, because Nick never spoke of him nor described him. The only image we have of Owl-Eyes is a pair of eyes, which makes me to believe that in the book Owl-Eyes is more of a symbol than a full character. Traditionally, the owls are a symbol of wisdom. They have a great vision and can see in the dark night, however they also are associated with an omen of death. We first met with Owl-Eyes in Gatsby’s library.
Kate Chopin’s novel, The Awakening opens with a scene of two birds, emphasizing that the motif of birds later within the novel will play an important part with setting the constant metaphor they bring. Throughout the whole novel the motif of birds is a metaphor for the Victorian women during that period -- caged birds serve as reminders of Edna’s entrapment and the entrapment of Victorian women in general. Edna makes many attempts to escape her cage (husband, children, and society), but her efforts only take her into other cages, such as the pigeon house. Edna views this new home as a sign of her independence, but the pigeon house represents her inability to remove herself from her former life, due to the move being just “two steps away” (122).
One thing about owls that is different from cats is that they don’t hunt for fun. They only hunt until they’re full, they would never kill something out of hatred. The plane actually hit several cars and what made this crash different is in one man in specific. During hard and scary times like this, this is where we see true heros and actual men come out.
