the novel Blueback by Tim Winton gives us an insight on what is happening in Abel Jacksons interesting life in the book we watch the main character grow old and discover Blueback an unusually large blue groper. Tim Winton uses techniques such as similes, dialogue, emotive language, descriptive language to make you really feel and understand what he is talking about. Abel Jackson has lived at longboat bay ever since he was a baby he loves it at longboat but the book took a sudden turn when Macka the abalone diver for longboat bay had a heart attack which caused Costello to be hired. And macka dying would have made him relive his past experiences. When Abel grew older he met Stella whom he had loved dearly, Stella and abel had met training to become marine biologists when they met they knew it was love at first sight they became marine biologists together and travelled around the world barely seeing each other. they got married and Stella became pregnant with Abels baby Stella and Abel had agreed that they would take time off work to live with Dora. because Dora was becoming old she had no longer could look after the house at longboat bay. They also needed to look after their baby.

The novel Blueback is targeted at audiences from 10 to 13 I think this will help the kids who read it understand a little bit more about sustainability. blueback is a story about loss, love, sadness, happiness and fish Personally I enjoyed reading blueback as I found it very engaging I couldn’t put it down it was fantastic. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a short easy read.

The story of Blueback defiantly taught me more about the problems we face I believe that everyone should read this book. I rate it a 10/10 I am looking forward to reading it
