This proposal is designed for adolescent females. The adolescent time period is a very sensitive time for many, and often times when people are shown to be insecure, it is about their body (Lunde and Frisén). The purpose of this proposal is to help adolescents feel more comfortable in their bodies and if they do not, to help encourage them to get in the body of their choice. So to solve this problem, we would need to understand why many people have trouble losing weight. For some it might be biological reasons, but according to CBCNews.com, more major reason for this issue is because of people’s eating habits and lifestyle choices (1). Not only this, but in today’s society there are so many different body trends that some people do not understand how they should feel in their own body or even if their own bodies are okay. The growth of social media has caused more body negativity to spread than body positivity. Body positivity characteristics would be having respecting, loving, and accepting one’s own body as well as the physical functions of the body (Andrew, Tiggermann, Clark). The next step would be identifying the issue that many have with body positivity, and this would be the message that social media has been spreading out to the world. There is this long understanding that movies, magazines, and television shows have had an impact on people’s body image, however social media has this same impact. Social media is used more present than the past, and there is even evidence that there is a link between body image issues, eating habits, and a need for adolescents to feel thin
