Mansa Musa was a monotheistic, Muslim leader who wanted to spread the Islam belief of one god and diminish the polytheistic faith while following the 5 Pillars from the Muslim holy book, the Koran, throughout his religious pilgrimage across Africa to the city of Mecca. During the pilgrimage, Mansa Musa combines many religious factors to inform and influence other people about Islam. On Mansa Musa's hajj, 60,000 people followed him (Document A).

In his work, Knauft describes each of these cultural changes in great detail. Knauft lived and studied with that Gebusi in the time periods of 1980-1982, 1998, 2008, and 2013. Knauft’s first visit in the early 80’s was marked by the Gebusi’s relative isolation and distinct and unique cultural attributes. The Gebusi people dressed in traditional clothing, often times very minimal.

This is clearly shown in Stephen Johnson's Yolngu Boy between a companionship of three male aboriginals taking after their fantasy, which are named Milika, Lorrpu and Botj. Every one of the three of the companions have obligations and have benefited a couple times, yet did they all take after their duties equitably?

Freakonomics is a book written by Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner which was published after they met each other in an interview for New York Times. After the article was published, the two went on to have an unanticipated partnership. Freakonomics, a book of problems and answers with no unifying theme, is supposed to make you look at a situation a different way. One of the problems in the book included the monumental drop in crime across America in the 1980’s when it was expected to rise significantly. Levitt came across this problem by first looking at the accepted reasons for the sudden drop such as more police, stronger capital punishment, changes in the crack market, and the aging of the population.
People came from all over to celebrate the many nights of the festa (Orsi). The festa began July 16th and went on for hours and hours for about a week (Orsi). People offered gifts and prayers to the Madonna throughout the festa. The streets of the festa were swimming with barefoot immigrants huddled in the July heat in front of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, the smell of delicious food, and giant artifacts like tall candles and a large decorated float (Orsi). The street festival was a way they could share their culture with others in it.

This song points to the strains of growing up in an unstable home full of drug use and domestic violence. Along with the implications of an unstable home life, this song sheds light on also growing up in a crime ridden, drug infested, and violent community. The word bro clearly comes from the word brother, but the meaning has changed a lot during the years. Bee-Bim Bop! by Linda Sue Park is a book about the Korean dish bibimbap. Throughout the book, a small Korean-American girl is shown helping to prepare her favorite dish, bee-bim bop. At the supermarket, she helps her mother find the ingredients bee-bim bop needs. At home, she helps her mother prepare the meal and then she helps her mother set the table.
