The many stories of Boo Radley, better known as the Maycomb County phantom are not unfamiliar throughout the state of Alabama. Widespread are the rumors of Mr. Radley murdering people and roaming the town at night, and according to Miss Stephanie Crawford, Radley’s neighbor, staring in people’s windows at night, according to Miss Stephanie Crawford, Radley’s neighbor. But are they true? For the first time in over 15 years, Mr. Radley has agreed to talk with someone outside of his immediate family. All I can say is that the rumors are completely wrong. (16) When I went to go see Mr. Radley, I asked him why he lived his life like he did, mostly alone and never leaving home. He told me that it wasn’t because he didn’t like people, but more because he was too nervous to talk to them! I had no idea someone could be that shy! Radley was really surprised, he didn’t think people distrusted him that much. Radley came to the conclusion that he understood why people thought that of him, because they didn’t know enough about him to really understand him.
