Night is an autobiography by Elie Wiesel and his time in the concentration camps of Nazi Germany. His story starts in 1994 Sighet, Wiesel’s hometown, when Polish soldiers turn it into a ghetto, and eventually shipping all the Jews to Auschwitz Concentration Camp when the resistance gets too close to their town. There Elie is permanently separated from his mother and sister, but remains with his father, transported to Buna Concentration Camp, and eventually liberated in 1945, a few months after his father dies. I really liked Night, despite it being extremely heartbreaking. It let me understand the horror and depth of what happened to Jews in Germany during World War II and made me feel so sorry for Elie Wiesel; even at one point, bringing …show more content…

You see things from his point of view and you feel his struggles, ache for him when he loses his family, and although you can’t relate exactly to what he went through, everyone can still find a small part in their life when everything was too much to handle; the death of a loved one, being bullied, or even racism. Elie Wiesel is such a strong and courageous person and, from reading this book, he has become one of my role models. All Elie Wiesel had was his father, so he was determined not to lose him. He cared for his father, never lost sight of him, and even gave him his soup and bread rations when his father fell ill; something that could’ve been deadly for Wiesel. In Lilo and Stitch, this theme is also shown. Lilo gets taken by aliens, and Stitch and her sister go and save her. They didn’t just leave her to the aliens, showing they never gave up on her. In the movie, it is said “Ohana means family, family never gets left behind or forgotten.” Elie Wiesel and Stitch didn’t give up on their loved ones and that teaches me to never give up on mine. Night was an excellent book that everyone should read. It’s not your ordinary book, but it has an excellent lesson to never give up on family, it’s very moving and emotional to the point of tears, and lets you see the horror of World War II for Jews. This autobiography is a book that I will recommend to everyone and one that I will come back to read
