Even though August is disfigured, he is still brave and a great person. He is brave because of all of the surgerys that he has been through and how he hasn’t been scared of hiding from the bullies. August is a brave person, who wants to show the world what he can do. For this reason, Chapter 14 of, How to Read Literature Like a Professor, relates to the novel, Wonder. Both books teaches readers that some people who are disfigured are the greatest people of all.
Wonder The book I read was Wonder by R. J. Palacio. The protagonist was August. August was a boy who was born with a facial disorder. He became so use to people talking about him, it no longer bothered him.
In the book, Wonder, By R.J Palacio the readers are brought into August Pullman point of view on life. August is in 5th grade but he has a severe facial deformity that sort of sets him back from being a normal kid. When he was younger he had so many surgeries that just made his face worse. August has a mom, dad and a sister named via, he also had a dog named Daisy but sadly she passed away, Via also has a boyfriend Justin and Miranda one of her close friends. August was mostly home schooled until 5th grade he was enrolled in public school, There he was bullied by a boy named Julian, They also played a game called “The Plague” which means they wouldn't touch him or they would have to wash their hands.
There is a kid in Wonder named Auggie, and he has disabilities and a weird face. He is pushed away just like Matt is in this book. Auggie goes to school and people don’t accept him because he is different from others. Matt is also pushed away because he is a, “Beast” even though he’s just the same as others. Matt and Auggie both are pushed away, and are not treated fairly.

Bryon reminds me of my little brother. My brother would do something so foolish and careless and expect for people to sympathize for him when he gets in trouble. I would recommend this book to any teenage girl who won’t mine wasting tissues for tears and will not mine getting angry at characters. I would recommend this book to a teenage girl because of all of the romance and usually boy aren’t in to those things. If you are up for the challenge, I will recommend this book to you.
