The main character in the odyssey is Odysseus which had an influence on the title. Also the word Odyssey means journey and The Odyssey is a story about multiple journeys.
The genre of The Odyssey is Epic. The literary movement is classical literature. The style is poetry. The book is about ancient Greece right after the Trojan war. Many people consider The Odyssey the sequel to one of Homer’s other books, Iliad. The author, Homer was born between the 12th and 8th centuries BC. Many people believe Homer is multiple people rather than 1 and there is very little actually known about him.
