First If you let people have too much freedom will they abuse it to the best they can. Where's Waldo was banned for side boob where the book was made to find things hard to find someone spotted the side of a girl's boob and decided to ban it even though most kids will have seen that if they go to the beach ever. Lord of the flies was banned because there was bullying which this book does have a frequency to it, but it can also be used as a show that bullying is wrong. Procon.org explained Banning books is basically taking someone's writing about how they expressed a story they thought up of which is restricting it. People expended their time, resources and effort to make a book and people said that no one should be able to read that book as well as writing is a form of speech which means that it has freedom of speech. Parents should be in control of what their children read not a legal system because the parents are the one in charge of the child and are the one responsible for the child should be the one to say what they can and can't read. There are alternatives to banning books that can protect the freedom of speech and protect the “innocents of kids”. Give an online review for parents whether they believe their child should read it or not, that gives a review and tells why they gave the review. Have a discussion with a teacher on the books that the students will be reading if you believe your child shouldn’t read the book then ask the teacher if your student could have a different assignment.
