Who do you think should choose what books are read in class, students or teachers? Students should be able to choose the books they read in school. But before you decide I’ll explain to you why the students should be the ones to choose their reading. Specifically, they would be more interested and more engaged in what they are reading. As well as being more interested, the students would be able to choose a book that they’re more capable of comprehending. Nevertheless, by being a part of the decision of picking the book, they’ll be more enthusiastic to read the book and would do better on the test. For these reasons, students choosing their reading material would likely increase participation, comprehension, and testing scores on certain reading material.
Although teachers making the reading choices is typical and has worked fine. By allowing students to choose their own books levels of interest and participation would be elevated. Therefore, as a student being able to pick the book you 're reading would be of greater interest because you get to read the book you and your peers selected. If the entire class’ opinion is received, then they will be more included in the decision of the book. Including all classmates will give a wider variety of opinions and book choices for our decision as well. This will help us pick the best book for the class so everyone will enjoy reading and it may even expand student’s opinion on some books. Also, if the students are picking then nobody is left out and everybody gets some say in what they’re going to be reading. Everyone getting a say will encourage the students to at least give the book a chance because it’s the book that they decided
