I’ve been asked what it means to be an Eagle scout, but I can’t properly tell you what an Eagle scout is without explaining how it feels, and how to get there. When you earn your Eagle, you get a feeling of accomplishment, and that you have finally met that goal. But there’s more to it than that. You look back on your Eagle project, your scouting experience, all of your schooling, your home life, church events, and you realize that it isn’t something you’ve done on your own. You realize that every scout master, every senior patrol leader, every teacher, every pastor, and especially your parents, have influenced you to become an Eagle.
I feel like that if everyone had the attitude toward life like a Boy Scout the world would be a better place because there would be less greed in the world. I feel like I could make my life better personally by trying to help others in need more than saying it is there fault that they are like this. Everyone has the same opportunity in life you just sometimes need to find the best thing for yourself. I personally felt like this impacted my life because now for the community service required I am going to go to the Ozark Food Harvest to try to help them give food away to the people in
As a cadet in the JROTC program at my school, I have the opportunity to go to a summer camp every year. Summer camp is a place where other cadets from other JROTC programs get to go to, only the best of the best are able go. My junior year I had the honor to go, along with twelve other cadets. When I finally arrived there, I became in charge of at least sixty other cadets. However, there were others that were placed in charge.
With all the pressure to recognize that they have a substance abuse problem, they choose detox and treatment, people with drugs or alcohol know that rehabilitation is just a stone. But many have had the opportunity to regain their normal lives and get rid of the available treatment options. Money, mindset, and obligations are all things that make people feel the way to take action to see what options they can use. Words such as ambulatory hospital patients and clinics are often mentioned in brochures and rehabilitation facilities websites, but for many, these are just words. The meaning behind them is often not included or clear, which makes the decision process a lack of direction.
I was only a few days in when I stepped back and noticed something, all the leaders were missing out on other opportunities. They were consumed with responsibilities and so narrow minded towards band that most of them were missing the fun times outside of their narrow vision. When they were given new opportunities outside of band they mostly ignored them because they only had one thing on their mind. It made me realize that all the duties I’ve done for band had given me more opportunities to be a new different leader around the school. By not being a leader in the band I was allowed to see them.
“If I had received good instruction as a child I would be with my family today and at peace with my neighbors. I hope and pray that all you parents in the sound of my voice will train up your children in the way they should go.” ― Charles Portis, True Grit Why do children persistently erode and diminish gradually and fill their journey (Yatra) with wrath? John Hunter - a British physician, had a bad temper. This proved prophetic when once; he got into a heated argument, walked out and dropped dead.
Years passed by and I turned into a high school freshman; I’ve made friends and joined multiple clubs and organizations. I was part of Class Senate, Stand For The Silent, the cheerleading squad, and etc. so, I had a busy life and I was doing great.
As high school went on, the workload grew, but I also grew, so I was perfectly capable of keeping up with the work. This type of growth came rather easy to me. It was important for me to have one thing I could be confident with through all of the drama and chaos in my life. Growing in my community was not challenging thanks to the Live Algoma movement. Our community itself has experienced so much growth over the past four years, which allowed many students, including me, to grow in their community involvement as well.
