My Life: The end and the start of a new chapter What motivates you in life, were you one to over acheive goals or were you one to settle on goals. How does your peers effect your motivation on your goals in life. In this essay I will be talking about “Brainology” by Carol S Dweck, and how i compare my life experience to the article.
For me, responsibility started at a young age. I had started working at the age of sixteen for an elderly couple, doing everything they weren't able to do. I started enjoying work more than going to school. That was where I messed up and set myself up. I wasn't one to enjoy school, sitting in class listening to the teacher lecture and take notes. That wasn't what I wanted to do, so I had this mindset where I would do what I could and hope I get a passing grade. A fixed mindset is one that thinks they can only do so much and won't challenge them self to anything difficult. High school I started at the bottom, not liking school, but because of my experience of life and work I find school more easy and I push myself to like school. Now, I'm at the top of the roller coaster where I like school and want to learn. I compare my educational goals to my work habits. I know I can work really hard, if I can take that same effort and put it into my education. I know I can gain a lot and give college my very best. I feel the need to better my education because I lost my car, lost my job, and lost my apartment, but one thing I won't lose is my education. So, if I better my education I can get farther than I am now. My goals are to finish college for a better opportunity for a career. I want to become an aviation technician and I believe that with a growth mindset I will be able to achieve my educational and career
