The human desire of wanting more is never satisfied. From the past to present, time and time again the human civilization has proven that what they possess is never enough. In the Brave New World, a novel written by Aldous Huxley, a supposed utopian society is controlled in almost every aspect. Although this society is much more sophisticated and advanced, ultimately this society has chosen to take a different path on how humans should be while still yielding the same results of people wanting more. However, due to the extreme measures taken by the Brave New World to restrict and restrain, it is for those reason I would prefer the current world I live in where I am free to choose. I believe this is an act of selfishness. The Earth has housed humans for millions of years only to be burdened even further with a larger youth population whose sole purpose is to consume. Through conditioning desired traits and beliefs are forged. Conditioning and promiscuity are just a few things conditioned to be acceptable in the BNW. In today’s world, this act would be without a doubt classified as inhumane. The United Nations have distinguished the right of every human being only for it to be violated in every aspect. The Declaration of Human Rights states that all humans are interdependent, indivisible, and equal in where this no discrimination. In the BNW, according to the DHC, “We also predestine and condition. We decant our babies as socialized human beings, as Alphas or Epsilons, as future sewage workers…” (Huxley 13). There is no freedom to choose. To have a predetermined life is meaningless. According to the BNW, the Savages, people who hold the customs of this world, are shunned and long forgotten. They are considered as uncivilized, unclean, and plagued with problems. Nobody has the right to classify what is right the path in life for a civilization. Being given life is a choice itself
