While reading Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, I started to realize that the book is trying to portray the “visions” of our modern days’ future. It shows that we become so scientifically advanced that we can create humans and clone so we have thousands produced at a time. This is not a possibility for the future. Our society is NOT becoming as what shows in the Brave New World. As Americans, after high school we have the choice to go to college and furthermore our education. There are many opportunities that come from going to college, and the wide variety of jobs is one of them. We have the choice to pick and choose what major to go into and which jobs can come from that degree. Choosing a career is a sticky situation. You need to find a job that makes you happy and you can strive in that one place. If you hate what you do, then you’re going to hate everyday of your life. In the novel, every person has their selected job that they do for the rest of their lives. Some clones are “programmed” to be nurses or others are “desk jockeys” (Huxley, 1932). The problem that comes from this is that people will not enjoy life if they hate what they’re doing. It will cause depression and lack of motivation. In a recent study showed by The Huffington Post, hating your job can cause physical sickness such as diabetes, lower immune systems, and cause lack of sleep (Kjerulf, 2014). This would not be good for our future
