Murder, it is an act that escapes rational human reasoning. It brings upon a social and moral unrest among all societies. It has been a topic of complex nature among sociologist to fathom the ideas and reasoning behind such atrocious acts especially those committed by serial killers. Serial killers symbolizes deviancy in the most brutal and violent manner, they deviate through the sheer act of killing for irrational reasons ranging from need to just sheer pleasure from committing the act itself. II. Mankind has seen much of these serial killers ranging from Ed gein, Ted bundy, Jack the ripper and so on. All of whom have committed their acts due to psychological and sociological issues. The individual of interest for this paper will be however on Charles Manson and his cult of killers. Charles Manson was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to a single mother of 16 years old, Kathleen Maddox (History.com, 2010). This situation left Manson with a troubled relationship with his mother. Coincidentally, the stress theory could also explain into the extreme swerve of Manson’s actions once he was certain of Armageddon due to emerging violent breakouts resulted from the assassination of Martin Luther King in 1968 . He had it in his mind that eventually the black people would invade the white people and the apocalyptic race war. He fed this idea into his already swayed group of drug addicted young followers.
