A brave new world requires brave new ideas. Aldous Huxley foresaw genetic engineering, and with it the possibility of “test tube babies”. In the first handful of chapters, these “hatcheries” as they are called are the birthplace, and possibly the greatest feat of the World’s state. The world state creates these “children” through their genetic engineering, through this, their world is shaped, and possibly creates a warning of what we are to become. From the moment they are created they begin the process of genetic modification. Using alcohol to limit brain growth, heat treat them to prepare for their future jobs, even inverting them. All are part of their “bokanovskification” or mass cloning and splitting the egg over and over creating multitude …show more content…
Of course, we would to some people be doing something morally wrong but that all depends on the person. If we were to continue going further into genetic engineering we would be able to “make your child” you could build them physically into your own mold. You are able to see if they might have some mutation and if you choose you are able to take that out of your child, being cancer cells, down syndrome, etc. Modifying the future of society could take us so much further as we can modify them for what the future need. One of the major things stopping us from going into genetic engineering and the using of it being widespread is religion. Many people that are religious are against this and fighting against it preventing using it on our children being a natural thing to do. Of course we still need so much more study and research in this field but to be able to make sure of what we are doing would be testing through human genetic engineering. That being said that’s of course not the only reason as time goes on the more and more we realize how far we still have to go in the perfection of this
