Pit bulls are the first dogs to blame when there is an attack, even though it would be proven to be a different breed. The breed specific legislation
The Fila Brazileiro also known as the Brazilian Mastiff, has been a banned breed in the UK since the Dangerous Dogs Act was passed in 1991. They are a large working breed native to Brazil known for their tracking ability as a hunting dog and aggressiveness as a guarding dog. They were also used when slavery was legal in Brazil to locate and return any escapees to their masters, run away cattle back to the herd unharmed or protect herds from predators such as jaguars. It is thought the appearance and traits we see today are a result of cross breeding numerous breeds including the Mastiff, Bulldog and bloodhound. The breed is illegal to own in several countries without exemption from a court including the UK, Denmark and Cyprus; in other countries,
American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terrier, and the Staffordshire Bull Terriers, commonly known as “Pit Bulls”, are all breeds of dogs that are universally misunderstood. Pit Bulls are commonly seen as vicious, dangerous, and violent animals. Unfortunately, Pit Bulls are falling victim to dog racism. Over the years, Pit Bulls have gained a negative reputation, but why? For my research project, I want to address the common misconceptions that constantly follow the bully breed of dogs.
Hounds are made to kill anyone that breaks the law. The government doesn 't care if violence is used, its part of life. “A four inch hollow steel needle plugged down from the proboscis of the Hound to inject massive jolts of morphine and procaine.” (Bradbury 22).
In the United States twenty-nine states are enforcing breed specific legislation since there is no state level law prohibiting the enforcement of the specific laws. There are four states that prohibit the enforcement of breed specific laws on a state level but some cases have slipped through the cracks of the state law due to being grandfathered in or finding a loophole through home-rule exemption. However, some states have begun enforcing more laws that identify, track, and regulate dangerous dogs not matter what the breed
The controversies of reintroduction of wolves is a stopping rule because there is no definitive statement of the problem , Ritchey (2005) found that wicked problems do not have a described set of potential solutions , the problems solvers have no right or wrong because each solution has an unpredicted and irretrievable consequences. In order to reintroduce wolves to Scotland first of it is necessary secure a safe and viable futures for wolves, Ritchey (2005) argues that every wicked problem is an indication of another wicked problem, seeing that before reintroduction wolves to Scotland several measures must be implemented such as interventions authorities and legal protection and this could result in another wicked problem (European
These dogs have again and again proved themselves to be loving dogs, but society does not give them a chance. The people assume things about the Pit bull but they are wrong. The lock jaw theory of Pit bulls is false and has been tested by professionals (Realpitbull.com, n.d.). They are not Crocodiles. (Realpitbull.com, n.d.)
BSL stands for “Breed-Specific Legislation”, and the only problem with this is that it bases its reasoning off of the looks of the animal. Legislation is beginning to be passed in different parts of the world, that discriminates dogs just because of their looks. There are many different opinions about this and its effectiveness. The main reason that cities and states pass this law is because there are often multiple cases of dog attacks, and BSL is supposed to improve public safety.
Small towns and certain counties are in the same effect. Internationally, the U.K, Australia, Ireland, Spain, and Canada have joined the movement on banning this breed (Phillips). Pitt Bulls attack for no earthly reason. When they attack a child or elderly person, the result is usually death. Why would anyone want to own a pet that has been bred to kill?
Every few years it happens, the headlines read “Child bitten” or “Veterinarian receives stitches after severe bite from vicious Pitbull.” As humans, we are naturally drawn and alarmed by headlines that induce our fear and panic. But are these stories always true or does the media have double standards. The time has come to sort out fact from fiction and realize that outlawing pit bulls will not make the world a safer place, it will only succeed in tearing beloved pets from their families.
Many states started trying to ban pit bulls around 1988. Kent Salazar says, “We have all the means to protect people with clauses about vicious dogs.” He also said that Doberman pinschers were the target of such bans. But everything he said didn’t matter. New Mexico passed the ban, which allowed animal control to seize and kill any pit bull on site ("How Did Pit
Why I think Iditarod is not animal cruelty. Iditarod dog sled racing is not a form of animal cruelty. Even though people say the dogs are treated horribly they really aren’t . If the dogs are treated badly why in 2014 did the iditarod have 36 vets (For veterinarians, Iditarod is all about the sled dogs).
The New York Times wrote an article called “A Breed That Came up the Hard Way” were it stated that because of their unparalleled love and devotion for children they were commonly known as “The Nanny Dog” throughout the late 19th and early centuries. (Fletcher,W 1971). Meanwhile advocates for this breed claim this specific breed is the most abused, tortured and abandoned breed in the U.S. They’re often difficult to adopt out due to their stigma caused by the media. The ASPCA revealed that there is no evidence that shows how breed-specific laws make communities safer for people or companion animals, these laws are costly and extremely difficult to enforce.
There is a long list of regulations that need to be meet to obtain a dog such as liability insurance mandatory spay or neuter and muzzled in public. With BSL the government basically controls who can and cannot have a banned
These animals should be taken to animal shelters and taken away from the people who beat them and make them fight. If you ever see a dog walking on the side of the road and it looks like its malnurited then you should do it a favor and take
