Brian Terrell, was executed at the age of 47, after being accused of the murder of his mother’s friend, John Watson. After being held in the death row for 20 years and was denied of request for a stay by the Supreme Court he was executed on December 9, 2015 at 12:52 a.m.. His execution was delayed due to appeals. After all appeals were rejected, the nurse had difficulty locating a vein in Brian’s arm which could be used. Eventually, the needle was placed in his hand. Brian declined to say any final words, although he mouthed “I didn’t do it” before he was executed. Terrell's lawyers say that no physical evidence links him to the murder and that this conviction and death sentence are a product of prosecutorial misconduct and false and misleading testimony. …show more content…

Capital punishment is only allowed after a proper trail for a specific type of crime including crimes such as murder, second degree murder, mass killing, terrorism, and treason. The death penalty happens in the death row, which is where the criminals wait to be executed. It has been banned in many countries, but the United States still allow capital punishment to occur. Ever since 1800, the number of nations who banned capital punishment has increased over time. Till this day, many discuss the righteousness of capital punishment and if it should or should not be authorised. The death penalty is no answer to crime, it should be the last resort to anything.
