In the United States death penalty is the execution of either a male or female offender, as said offender has received a sentenced of death for a criminal offense, after they have been convicted by a court of law. The term death penalty is sometimes used interchangeably with capital punishment, because there is a possibility of their sentence being commutated to life imprisonment if another court over turns the original ruling. The metaphysical and ethical basis for the death penalty for some is fundamentally wrong and against moral possibility. A Texas death row inmate Kimberly Cargill was a white suburban mother with a highs school education involved with a child custody case and subject did not want the victim (the family babysitter) to testify against her in the child protective case the ex-husband created against subject to gain custody of the children. The victim a black woman who was developmentally disabled working for the subject as a baby sitter, tricking her into believing that a subpoena for the sitter was going to result in her the sitter going to jail, so subject told the victim “I will hide you out till this all blows over”. She after making unknown drinks for them as they left the residency and went for a drive and victim then had a seizure on the drive that led to a county road, where she doused the victim with lighter fluid and set her on fire. Subject then left the scene. Currently on Death Row in the United States there are only 51 women offenders, one of those being a woman awaiting execution for federal crimes, the other 50 women on Death Row are spread over 17 …show more content…

The debate exist that people believe that penalty has one meaning of just simple punishment and where is capital is concerned it more refers to death so to many the difference between those terms is negligible. Forgot get not the victim while you consider the defendant that all the life choices still available to them that are now denied to their victim. New and more murders will be deterred so repetitive murders will be eliminated. As long as there is a chance that innocent people will be put to death via capital punishment, and this chance cannot be ruled out because we do not have a perfect justice system.
