REVIVAL – sounds great and mysterious. The puzzling atmosphere feels like someone who’s dead is going back to life. Is this book all about bringing the dead back to life or this book will show and help us discover more meanings about this ‘revival’ thing? REVIVAL is a horror-fiction novel by Stephen King that thrilled the people of any ages. King was known as the Fiction Master, and this novel really proved King's brilliance in writing. II. SUMMARY “Revival”, King’s 55th novel, opened strongly with the introduction of young Jamie Morton, who was excited when the new minister, Reverend Charles Jacobs, together with this wife and son, came to Maine and eventually loved by everyone in town. Things have changed all too suddenly when Mrs. Jacobs and her child died in a gruesome car accident. Some pages also contain some jokes and humorous conversations, which really made me laugh ‘alone’ and offered me ‘relief’ from the brutal, horror ambiance of the novel. The author’s style of writing is unpredictable. You don’t know when the characters will appear, and you don’t get any clues for what is about to happen to them. It was really surprising and invigorating. The storytelling was superb that made the confusing questions from the past will eventually be answered and reveal deeper stories after each chapter. The sequence of events was in order and won’t leave you hanging. I can say that some pages lacked resonance. Some pages made me say, “Woah! This is spine-tingling”, but suddenly made me say, ‘What? It became so boring”. But after reading some pages, the rush of terror comes again and it really amused me. The ending left me very satisfied, and I want more of this! Really loved it.
