The documentary My Flesh and Blood takes viewers through the life of Susan Thomas,a courageous and caring woman, who adopted and takes care of thirteen children, each with a specific type of disability. Because her own mother did not provide her with all the attention and care she needed, Susan always had a vacant space in her heart which she could fill by loving and caring for other children. Through her decision to care for these handicapped children, who needed lots of love, care, and patience, it provided her with the opportunity to show the love she had and that they needed.
