While reading “The Las Vegas shooting”, I learned that someone shot a gun while at a country festival and a man, Jonathan Smith, helped save people. While helping people keep safe and unharmed, he got shot twice, once in the neck and another in the stomach area. He made it out alive, fortunately, but the doctor’s kept the bullet in his neck to keep away from further damage. After the accident was ended, Smith got asked a few questions, some in the range of “Why did you do what you did?”, his answer was “I don’t see myself that way, I would want someone to do the same for me. No one deserves to lose a life coming to a country festival.” Many people are inspired by what he did, he could’ve kept running and left the people unhidden, but he decided to stay, even if his life was at risk. …show more content…
One firefighter, Timothy Stackpole, helped save some of the victims. Before the horrific tragedy, he had gotten into an accident and over 30% of his body was covered in burns, he had been in alot of pain and he was in the hospital for 66 days, until being able to leave. Later, Stackpole went back to work soon facing the terrible fate of 911. "It was his life, his calling," said his wife. "He couldn't not do it. This is what he felt he was supposed to do in his life." On his last day of work, September 11, 2011, Stackpole sadly died doing what he loved, saving people.
