Tuck Everlasting is about a ten-year-old girl, Winnie Foster who encounters an invincible family named the Tucks. She learns that the Tucks drank from a magic spring that grants perpetuity. Winnie also encounters a Stranger who wants to know about a family that lives in Treegap a long time ago. While the Stranger was leaving the conservation with Winnie, she hears him sing a peculiar tune which she finds interesting. One day Winnie was strolling around in the forest when she suddenly heard the same strange music coming from one side of the forest. She keeps walking and sees the most beautiful boy drinking from a small spring bubbling from the ground. The Tucks explain to her that they are everlasting because they drank from the spring. That’s why they didn’t want her to drink any of the water. Winnie is so happy that she met the Tucks that she never notices that the Stranger has listened to the whole Tuck story and that he has been following them. Back at the Foster’s house Winnie’s parents go crazy looking for her. The Stranger meets them and makes a deal that he would give them Winnie for the woods. The family agrees and the Stranger is on his way to collect Winnie. When the Stranger gets there the family learns that his Grandma knew Mile’s wife and children. He tries to take Winnie against her will but instead but instead Mae smashes her shotgun on his head. The constable sees the whole scene and arrests Mae for hitting the stranger. Winnie goes in place of Mae and the constable gets really angry. The he lets her go and she knows for a fact that the secret of the everlasting Tucks will be safe for a very long
