As the technological world continues to grow and become an integral part of young peoples lives, the topic of cyber bullying and it’s effects becomes more and more prevalent. With this issue growing, it is important that teachers become aware of the antecedents of bullying, how to identify them, then how to address the situation. The article “Pre-service Teacher Beliefs on the Antecedents to Bullying: A Concept Mapping Study” by Lopata and Nowicki reflects the results of a study conducted which highlights the main antecedents of bullying that pre-service teachers identified, their misconceptions, and factors they neglected to identify. As a pre-service teacher myself, I think it is extremely important to learn about the antecedents of bullying and how to sympathetically address these factors to prevent and recognize bullying in my school community. With all of the data being compiled into multiple formats it was clear that pre-service teachers need more education on identifying and understand the antecedents to bullying, however this conclusion could have been identified through simpler terms. The point map was difficult to understand, leading the cluster map to be equally as confusing. As a reader, I think it would have been beneficial to include the concept map and written explanations, as they capture the studies results and display them in an format which is easy to navigate and understand. Through breaking down the clusters, categorizing, then ranking the antecedents in accordance with the studies results then in accordance with research, I was able to identify the top antecedent recognized by pre-service teacher and the antecedents missed by pre-service
