Students are motivated to achieve higher academically because of the inspiration of business and education working together in a partnership. The students are inspired to achieve higher academics because they will receive a better post secondary education. Businesses put in the resources they have into schools promoting different skills and getting the students prepared for what they will need to do in the future. Business involvement in schools is increasing, according to the Fifth Annual Report on Trends in Schoolhouse Commercialism. Many principals say they face a problem of trying to provide strong educational programs meeting all students’ academic needs with limited resources from businesses (2003). Qualitative research studies on the relationship between schools and businesses are almost absent, especially by those in post secondary institutions (2010, January 1). Based on the research studied, school and business partnership is absent when it comes to post secondary institutions. While students get the skill development to get to post secondary institutions, they will need to continue those skill developments to reach the next level for their career. The absence of partnership between business and education in post secondary institutions will hurt student’s academic and career development skills which will affect the career options they will have. Partnership goals and objectives should be aligned with education goals of individual schools or the district (2003). Business and education have the same goals and objectives for students, by getting them ready career ready.
