Therefore, I will need to make approximately R3 600 to support myself.
The money I earn from being a sales assistant will not be enough to support myself, so I will have to find a way to support myself. As I do this, I will be able to be more confidant in approaching the consumers and letting them know all that they need to know, in order to buy the product. I will also have to be educated in how to process payments, like knowing how to work with a cash register. In order to do that successfully, I will have to take up a course in accounting or bookkeeping, so that I can do cash and card payments, as well as making sure that the till balances. For more experience, I could work in a store during Christmas time, take up a weekend job or I could volunteer at a charity shop. The money I will get from a part time job won’t be enough to support myself as a part time job doesn’t pay much.
If I do community work then I will be able to grow my community and help it thrive. Unfortunately, like volunteering, I won’t be able to support myself as I won’t get any money from it.
Entrepreneurship will be a great opportunity for me to fill a gap in the market by satisfying the needs of consumers. Being an entrepreneur will help me create jobs for people and be able to get a good enough salary, if my business is able to survive past the developing stage.
It will be difficult to find an informal job, like becoming a house cleaner, as many families already have domestic workers and some are very reluctant to allow people they don’t trust into their homes.
