Born August 18, 1774; Meriwether Lewis was an American explorer, soldier, politician, public administrator, and the leader of the Louisiana expedition group known as the Corps of Discovery. During the first few years of his life, Meriwether grew up on his family’s estate in Ivy Creek, Virginia. After the death of Meriwether’s father in 1779, Meriwether’s mother Lucy Meriwether remarried to John Marks who later moved the family to Broad River Valley, Georgia in 1780. At his new home, Meriwether was influenced by his love for natural history and spent most of his time improving his skills as an outdoorsman, and it is said that he would go out hunting with his dogs at the age of eight. John Robert Lewis was born February 21,1940, Outside of Troy, Alabama. John Robert Lewis had a happy childhood, even though he needed to work hard to assist his sharecropper parents be he chafed against the unfairness of segregation. As I sat down with John Robert Lewis and among my other peers he shared with us everything about his childhood, his job as a sharecropper was to raise the chickens. He did he job very good and he enjoyed raising them chickens. Him and his siblings would gather the chickens all together and John Lewis would preach as of the chickens knew what he was saying.
John Lewis was a civil rights activist and an American politician. John gained a notable profile because of his work that he had done in the civil rights movement by being a chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee also known as the SNCC which he commissioned the structure. The SNCC is a youth-led, nonviolent campaign against segregation and different types of racism. John Lewis was born on February 2, 1940 near Troy,Alabama, but unfortunately died on July 17,2020 in Atlanta, Georgia. He went to a segregated school and his parents encouraged him to not mind the discrimination he will receive.

Lewis went to college in Nashville, Tennessee at Fisk University, where he learned about nonviolent protests. Lewis helped found the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and joined the freedom riders.
Overall, in the book, Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis, there are some very strong and applicable points that I believe, should be shared as much as possible. For instance, in the entire book one, Lewis rambles on about the moral law of society, and the outcome of peoples over complicated ways of thinking. He mentions the so called standard of behavior, which it upheld by the thinker to believe that whatever way he sees the situation should be the right way, and however the situation is presented in his mind is how it should be played out. Lewis gives many diverse examples of this action such as, sharing a “bit of orange,” since I “gave you some of mine.” the greed involved with the way of thinking is what Lewis called the law of nature.

There are lots of things that are useful to Christians in there walk of faith. Prayer and the reading of the scriptures are considered the primary resources to equip a Believer. But other things, such as scripture memorization, worship music, and Christian literature can have a very positive impact. “The Screwtape Letters” by C.S. Lewis is a fictional story written in the form of a series of letters. It gives us a look at a demon named Screwtape, who is giving a young demon (Wormwood) advice on how to make his “patient” stumble in his walk of faith.
Many of the names were chosen from the bible on the day of a child’s birth. Letting God choose a child’s name shows a level of faith in the parents which often results in awkward and weird names. The use of the name, Magdalena called Lena, is similar to the phrasing in the bible in names like Simon called Peter. Toni Morrison put a lot of emphasis into the characters' names in Song of Solomon. The main characters' last name of Dead has a lot of emphasis.
I find Charles Lewis to have a valid point by saying that this country is in fact very militant. The reason why I think he says we don 't want to associate ourselves with wanting to be militant is because of all of the horrible things that can happen during war. When watching why do we fight every president has always gone into another country and tried to do it so that it was as if they did something to up hold America 's freedom. America likes to police the world and most Americans agree with it, this makes them feel safe. I think the real truth though in this statement is that fighting as a nation is in our best interest and we all should support anything our country

Clive Staples is very well known for his strong faith in God, which later led him to write the chronicles of Narnia series. The time period of Lewis had a great impact on the way he wrote the things he did. Lewis’s college experiences had the most impact on the things he did and the books he wrote. Another experience that impacted his writing was the army.
John lewis can be named many things. Leader of marches and protests during the movement, amazing person and one of the most hard working people alive today. Yes he is all of those things. From a young age, he felt the effects of segregation. Eventually he got so fed up about old beat up school busses and run down out of date text books.

In America we have the freedom of speech and a popular way for artist to express their thoughts and views is through their music. Protest songs allows artist to express their thoughts on controversial, social or political topics freely through music (Gilbert). In addition artist protest songs are a way to convey a message and bring people together with same opinion (Gilbert).
Human rights are something that every person deserves to have. People don 't normally realize or appreciate how difficult it was to achieve women 's rights, civil rights and all around rights for everyone. Many events and leaders helped make civil rights possible for people of color. John Lewis was a determined and brave person, that changed America for the better. John Lewis made a lot of change for equality for people of color.

Later he died on November 22,1963, in Headington, Oxford. C.S. only has one brother, Warren Lewis, whom he was very close to. As a child he was “enraptured by fantastic animals and tales of gallantry, hence the brothers created the imagery land of Boxen, complete with an intricate history that served them for years” (Biography.com).
