I picked to watch a child at a football practice. The child that was observed is approximately an 8 year old male that is African-American. Additionally, his height is approximately 3ft 5 inches and his weight is around sixty pounds. The hair color of this child was black and his eye color appeared to be brown. He was wearing a white jersey with blue sleeves and a helmet that was similar to the San Diego Chargers.

He discusses the school’s failure to provide the students with what they need to succeed academically. In my last week in Wilkinson Middle School I was observing Classroom Procedures .Ms. Culberson is a very fun teacher but she is really strict in every one that enters her classroom knows that .Ms. Culberson might not be in the class whenever the bell rings but her students know to start in the bell ringer. She times her student and they all have to work quickly and quietly. They grade the bell ringer after words she asks for their grade and they have to say it out loud.
The concert that I attended was of the band Def Leppard and they performed at the Xcel Energy center in St. Paul on October 5th. This concert was primarily instrumental and vocal music. The genre of this concert was mainly a concerto. The era that was represented throughout this concert was the 20th century. The type of ensemble that this concert featured was a band.
The concert that I attended was called Voices of Villainy. It was held on October 19, 2015 in the Performing Arts Center. This event was put on by the Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi choir. It was made up of twenty singers, with the majority of them singing solos.
In the situation that the community does not understand the importance of an evening concert, I would take one or two concerts and use them as an educational experience for the audience. I would have a small presentation on concert etiquette. I would teach the audience HOW to listen to music. For example, I would tell the audience “The following piece is ‘---.‘It was written by --- in 1945 and it was truly an important piece in the development of band literature.
Concert 2 is one of the lowest bands in the program. When I first entered the program, I had wanted to quit. However, after a while, I grew to really enjoy band. I started practicing more and put in more effort with what I did. I was first chair in concert 2, which is the principal player.
Many people think that most American schools are satisfactory. That is far from what is actually happening. The harsh reality is that schools that are unsatisfactory do exist. In Jonathan Kozol’s “Fremont High School”, he points out the flaws of a high school located somewhere in Los Angeles. This helps shine light on differences in the quality of education in various areas of the country.
Choir Fest was an original, fun, and inclusive opportunity that gave incoming Freshman interested in choir a chance to showcase their skills, and learn from current choir participants what the fine arts program at Barrington High school has to offer. The choir that I am proudly a part of is Select Women’s Ensemble, which is an audition-based, all girls choir. This concert was conducted by Brandon Pemberton, and accordingly, took place on March 9th, 2018, in the Barrington High school Auditorium, where the majority of fine arts performances take place. In my opinion, the performance came off as slightly messy, and unorganized. While I thought the vocals were strong, the transitions and movements had room for improvement.
I had been in band from fifth grade through high school so even just hearing an ensemble sound again was amazing as I miss band very much. I also really enjoyed The Swan Lake Suite as it has been one of my favorite pieces since I was little, so it was also really nice to hear something that I already knew a little of how it would go. The orchestra sounded amazing and I am also good friends with one of the bassoon players so it was neat that one of our concerts to choose from had someone I knew in it. It was so interesting to hear all of the elements we have been discussing in class, actually in person and it was helpful that I was in band throughout school
I think the music must have included quite a bit of improvisation as they would be playing for a while before taking a break. I mean they could have changed songs, but sometimes it just sounded like they kept making new melodies for the same song. I liked it. It seemed very free.
On Wednesday, September 30th I observed Mrs. Bangham’s three to six year old classroom. The observation was from 8:00 to 10:00, at Greensboro Montessori School. Since they combine different ages I focused more on the five and six year olds that would be in a normal Kindergarten class. I learned so much about Montessori schools and how they work in the two hours I observed.
