Cameras have impacted history in a great way by recording and documenting events from history and the past, as these devices became smaller and more functionalable they began to be used by the average everyday people all around the world. But, what exactly is a camera and what is it used for? A camera is a device that is used for the recording of visual images that can be stored directly to the device that it is taken from, or even be sent to other devices in other locations around the world. These visual images can be taken in two different forms. What are these two forms? These two forms are photographs or moving images that we call movies or videos. Light reflects off of the person, place, or thing you are trying to create a photo of. The light being reflected will reflect in many different angles. A film is placed where the image will be projected to. The lens then focuses these rays of light behind the focal point and forms an image.
Science is used in the development of the film or special paper so that the pictures are able to develop fully and properly. Light is an electromagnetic energy. What is an electromagnetic energy? An electromagnetic energy is a form of energy that is reflected or released from objects in the form of electrical and magnetic waves that can travel through space. Light travels in a straight line and when it comes in contact with an object, it is able to be reflected, angled away, or even absorbed. The first cameras would take photographs that would be upside down but, why? Well since light travels in straight lines, the rays from above the pinhole would pass through the lens of the camera and hit the bottom of the material placed inside of the camera and the rays from the bottom would go through the lens and it would hit the top. These days the images that are taken are not taken upside down anymore because they found a better way to take them. Rather then being flipped upside down the image is flipped vertically so it is easier to see. meaning
