Cameron Clokie is a surgeon, scientist, and CEO of Induce Biologics Inc. For thirty years, Clokie was involved with educational dentistry and related fields. In 1998, he was the Head of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and later a professor at the University of Toronto.
In the early and mid-2000s, Clokie developed a procedure to restructure the jaw 's skeletal clock similar to when babies first develop their jaws. "This is pretty much back to the embryonic state of bone generation," said Clokie. The surgery was done on only eight patients, one of whom is Peter Russel. The surgery was done at a Toronto hospital and marked a milestone not only for Canadians but the medical field in general. Clokie was heavily involved with the reconstruction of Russel 's jaw. Clokie first had to experiment with the growth protein liquid which he described as "trying to model a [jaw] shape from bone." The surgery appeared to be safe and Russel wasn 't

University of Toronto researcher Molly Schoichet believes that "It 's an important innovation." The foundations of Clokie 's procedure can not only be used for aesthetics but also to save thousands of lives.
Clokie 's bone regeneration procedure definitely works, however, the overall surgery is costly, which can be attributed to the bone morphogenetic protein or BMP. Russel expressed: "I 've been lucky in my life and was able to afford it." Clokie further researched BMP and determined that there needs to be "... some way to bring the costs down." As a result, he tested human genes on various different animals such as goats and spiders.
Towards the end of his career, Clokie had established himself as a leader in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. There were many firms that were consistently seeking advice from Clokie and his method. Moreover, Clokie has had many publications of his research relating to oral
