A well written thesis with three sub-topics are very important, it will act as a road map telling the audience what is to come. To begin, Hansberry uses diction to demonstrate Walter and his dream by using abstract diction. She does this by explaining how he will give Travis anything for his seventeenth birthday and that he will “hand you the world!” (2.2). This shows that he wants to make his sons life as good as possible.

Chayce, I believe the meaning of this post does in fact answer the question presented, but some of the supporting details typed, I, to my belief, find invalid. “Viewing are noble actions can make us seem more self righteous then we sometime are entitled.” shows you believe we excessively show smugness in our actions than we believe we do. Although I agree, I don’t see this as a coherent statement for this topic. As you did describe a average person’s characteristic flaws, I don’t recall the story (at least the 5 chapters I read) mentioning high self-pride.
Many examples of the worst, but also the best of people spring forth from the events that were the Holocaust. One can look back at these events for examples of intense human emotion and suffering. Although these dark times degraded and beat the human spirit, survivors from the Holocaust still find hope and look for ways to improve society and look selflessly for ways to alleviate the suffering of others. The tone of this excerpt is overly yielding. The narrator has a superficial lifestyle where she is happy with the home she lives in and all of the amenities she has while her parents live a content lifestyle, where they have done right by their daughter and allowed her to grow up to where she is today. The narrator cannot bare to see her parents in the state that they are in and feels that although her parents are happy living on the streets that they shouldn’t because they don’t live in an actual home. This tree symbolizes the narrator’s life. As a child, she had gone in every direction that her parents had taken her.

Society is drawn to leaders that have good rhetoric, propaganda, and charismatic personalities, and society supports them despite their immorality. Whether by cold hard facts, logical reasoning, or an emotional story, companies rely on rhetorical strategies to persuade viewers to want their product. When presenting consumers with rhetoric for persuasion means, there must also be a framework in how to present these strategies. In the commercial “The Story of Sarah & Juan” by Extra Gum, the company tries to relate to American consumers by telling a story through narration that involves the rhetorical strategies of doxa and pathos in an attempt for us to connect to their product.

Throughout Chapter five of her book Shadows of War, Carolyn Nordstrom shares her views on war in terms of social, physical and mental goals and punishes of such violence. To begin, one of the first goals of war as defined by Nordstrom is a direct result of a threat of loss of control. She explains that it is common for one military to feel the need to destroy another when their control over a certain (land area owned or controlled by someone) is under threat (56). An interesting point that Nordstrom makes is relating to/about (community of people/all good people in the world)'s do not tell the difference between the existence of different violences. As stated by Nordstrom, most people will naturally tell/show the difference between different wars; however, very few tell/show the difference between the experience of violence throughout such wars (57).
