My favorite constellation is Capricornus. Capricornus is my favorite constellation because my zodiac sign is Capricorn. Capricornus is one of the constellations of the zodiac. Its name is Latin for "horned goat" or "goat horn", and it is commonly represented in the form of a sea-goat: a mythical creature that is half goat, half fish.

In Greek mythology, this constellation is associated with the time the Olympian gods sought refuge in Egypt. Unfortunately, following their epic battle with the Titans, peace did not last for long, as the monster Typhon, son of the Titan Tartarus and Earth, sought revenge. Typhon was a fearsome fire-breathing creature, taller than mountains and with arms which possessed dragons' heads in place of fingers. The Olympian gods sought to escape by adopting various disguises: Zeus, a ram - Hera, a white cow, Bacchus (another version of the myth suggests Pan) a goat. It was the last of its species, the Capricornus was a half goat half fish. The Capricornus spent most of its time in the water, but would occasionally rest on rocks to bask in the sun. The Greek goddess Artemis befriended the Capricornus, bringing it food and brushing out its fur. One day Artemis brought her brother Apollo with her to meet the Capricornus. Apollo thought it was a fascinating and magnificent creature, and it would be a shame when the species went extinct. Artemis and Apollo knew that the Capricornus was old and would most likely die soon, so theyh thought of an idea. Artemis talked with the Capricornus and it agreed. Artemis and Apollo rode pegasi into the air with the Capricornus in a chariot being pulled by the pegasi. They brought the Capricornus into the sky where it would live forever as a constellation.
