A manager is a person responsible for planning and directing the work of group of individuals, monitoring their work and taking action when necessary. Managers may work directly with workers or they may delegate several supervisors to direct workers. In care settings such as care homes, managers are responsible for the day-to-day running of the care homes and must see to it that the quality of service and care workers both direct and indirect meets the needs of residents and the National Minimum Standards in general. A manager must be a good communicator, strong interpersonal skills among others.
