A manager must be a good communicator, strong interpersonal skills among others. A care home manager may specialise in working with older people, people with physical disabilities or people with mental health problems.

Reflection Paper #2: Supervision and Consultation I have been with Clackamas County Juvenile Department for a full four weeks (at the time this paper was originally written) where I have been completing about eight hours a week. My field instructor, Jillian Kellington, and I have only recently connected with each other and established that she will, in fact, be my field instructor. Despite the nature and quickness of my assignments, Jillian and I both found it helpful to establish and discussed the requirements of this assignment. The purpose of this paper will be to reflect on my field instructors and I’s discussion surrounding constructive feedback and describing my supervision and consultation.
This essay is going to reflect on my own management and leadership style in delivering patient care. It will discuss the effectiveness of the other leadership and management style within the multi-disciplinary team and its impact on delivering patient care. I will use as an example, my previous experience back home as a nurse and compare it to my current experience in the United Kingdom (UK). This will show my strength and weakness as well as my new learning skills, which have changed my practice. I will be using Driscoll model of reflection (2007) to guide my thought and refine my ideas.

Morgan and Yoder (2012) described ‘respectful care’ as being an attribute of person centred and while the author does not disagree with this idea of ‘respectful care’ being inherent to person centred care, the author believes that Slater (2006) more accurately describes dignity and respect as being antecedents of person centred care. These antecedents drive respect of personal values, individual needs and decisions, a consequence of which is an improved therapeutic relationship and health outcomes. The author considers this view of dignity, compassion and respect as antecedents
