7). Nobody should receive this type of abuse, specially a 10-month-old baby who could not have even defended herself. Many times, parents try to discipline their kids by spanking them. I am grateful to experience what it is like to have an extraordinary employer. Not many people can say they had the chance to work for someone who is not only a strong leader, but an exceptional mentor. I had the pleasure of working as a Residential Assistance for Mr. Joseph at Florida Memorial University for a year, and I could not have asked for a better experience. In Residential Life, our main focus was the residence’s housing experience; however, Mr. Joseph sincerely cared about each student’s wellbeing and success.

When a senor requires additional care, there are various decisions that need to be made. These include whether the senior wants to remain in their current home, the ability to handle an ongoing medical condition while at home and the financial capacity to invest in professional care services. Long-term senior care plans will be considered according to the individual’s mental and physical capabilities as well as their social needs. Finding a Care Provider After the decision to hire a care service is made, the next important step is to find the right care provider on a short or long-term basis.
The services provided through The Family Caregivers Benefits Program are beneficial for both the disabled elderly and the caregiver. The disabled, elderly will be allowed to receive additional benefits from programs, such as Supplement Security Income and Medicaid or Medicare, etc. Unlike previous studied programs, financial assistance was only provided if the elder had a low income. The main benefit is that the disabled elder can continue living out the rest of their lives at home, under the care of a loved one. The elder would be taken care of daily, and would be assisted with day to day living obstacles, that he or she can no longer do.

As their care needs change, they can also opt to live in a Continued Care Retirement Communities (CCRC) which according to the book are residential complexes for seniors that offers housing options and comprehensive nursing care with their changing needs.

The specific challenges faced by children living in residential care centers are children who run away (Crosson-Tower, 2013). They can be suffering from a mental health problem.
