I chose to pick a case were an assistant living in Texas failed to meet the OSHA requirements. This assistant living (Williamsburg Village Healthcare Campus) was fined $46,000 for failing to have a safe, hazardless environment. They failed to have appropriate eye or face protection, training sessions, facilities for eye flushing, or a written exposure control plan for the employees to follow. They had 15 business days to change things to be able to pass and they failed to do so which caused them to pay a fine. I work at an assistant living here in Iowa and I know how important it is to have a safe environment to work in. Once a month we have a meeting where the RNs take us aids around to show us where everything is and makes sure everything
