There is an established business with a name of Business Pub. This is an organization that requires educated and professionally skilled people to work positions at their organization. A lot of employees that work regular positions, such as administrative, human resource, sales and technology have a bachelor’s degree for the position he or she works. Yet, positions, such as executive, managers, chief executives and other leaders are required to have a master’s degree in the position he or she works. Executives in charge have faced a great deal of environment changes that need a lot of leadership and management skills.
Moreover, I have attempted to live my life in the same manner. At an early age, I learned the importance of academic excellence, integrity, leadership, and community service. My career goal in the exercise science and wellness field would be becoming an athletic trainer. I enjoy playing and watching sports and have some knowledge about certain things that needs to be done when an injury occurs to an athlete. In ten years, I would expect to see myself working as an athletic trainer at Penn State University. I began my undergraduate education at Colorado State University in 2004. I declared my major as Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. At this point in my life, I had no clue what I wanted to do for my career and thought this would be the best option and give me the most diversity of career options. Going into my sophomore year, I began a job in the emergency department at the hospital located in the college town. During my first day, I got to see a variety of emergent and non-emergent medical procedures.
This week we reached our conclusion of our initial goal to complete our degree. I remember at the begin I was so apprehensive the workload felt so overwhelming and I was wondering how was I going to be able to work and do all this work, but stay resilient and focused, I am achieving the ultimate goal. Six year ago when I started college, I thought it was just going to make me four years straight with no problems, but about half-way in, I found out I was pregnant with the first child. At the time, I was still in community college and had 8 classes to graduate. Since I was working full time, I thought of holding off on school till the baby was grown because I could not afford quitting work. After so much thought and sorting out of my priorities, I decided that attaining my education was very important and I was going to do everything in my power to achieve it. I decided on working part-time and cutting back on some luxuries so that I can continue going to school full-time.
My goal is to become a college counselor. I want to guide students to their career paths, by helping them discover their own talents, self-interests, and limitations. With these tools, students will be able to utilize the resources around them. Also, I plan to give assistance to those students that are considered a minority and are the first generations going to college.
So often the question of personhood has intrigued me, who gets to define it, and by what standards. An only child from a single parent home, my identification, desires, needs were a reflection of the manifestations of my environment. My mother was a champion since birth. She is never too shy to speak the truth to power, always bold, and always beloved. She makes the most out of the least.
1. Looking back at my initial choice to return to school following years of working, it was not a very definite or clear-cut plan. Rather, it was a choice I made to “see where things go.” At the end of the academic year, I hope to have “settled” back into life as a student as I would have finished most of the courses required to get into my chosen faculty.
One of my goals is to graduate with honors. When completing my Bachelor’s Degree one of my goals would be to attend the Great Plains Convention. After receiving a Bachelor’s Degree I would at that point pursue a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology at Emporia State University. After receiving a Master’s Degree I would wish to open my own private practice and practice therapy for families.
