As printed on my shower curtain and once said by Robert Byrne, “Purpose-The purpose of life is a life of purpose”. My purpose is to help those in need through the talents expressed in the themes of Restorative and Developer to empower and motivate those who are struggling to find happiness. My long-term goals are to do more to help those who are less fortunate , obtain my bachelor’s degree to be able to enroll in a Physical Therapy program, and empower my patients to push through therapy to get back to living their lives. In order to accomplish my educational and career goal I have to accomplish my personal goal.

This goal is important to me because these are my first steps into becoming a physical therapist. I first wanted to become a physical therapist when I was in the seventh grade where we had to create a project about what we would like to do as a career. We took a test that would show us our best career options based on our personality and one of my options was to become a physical therapist. After careful research, I realized that I wanted to help people who have been through traumatic experiences and help them get back to living a normal life. This relates to my dreams and my purpose because becoming a PT means that you can be an inspiration to someone who thought they could have died and help them find happiness after suffering from such a hard time. I strongly believe in second chances and if someone has the opportunity to come out of a scary situation and continue to live their lives that they were given then they deserve to be helped. One of the biggest obstacles I may face is that I may change my mind and no longer be a physical therapist. One possible solutions to face this obstacle is to volunteer at clinics or a hospital and actually experience what an average day of a PT looks like. My other solution would be to start looking at other possible option in the medical field such as an occupational therapist where they help patients optimize their independence by performing everyday activities.
