Getting through high school is something people are forced to go through to get into college, if deciding to drop out of high school a GED is needed. Schools make it seem that if you do not go to college you will not be successful. Money is a major thing students look at for their future. While getting out of high school most students do not even know what they want as their career, instead they get stuck with a job. College is not meant for everyone and is definitely not something students or individuals should be forced upon. If a child doesn’t want to go to school some morning, better let him stay home, at least until you find out why. Maybe he knows something you don’t. It’s the same with college. If high-school graduates don’t want to go, or if they don’t want to go right away, they may perceive more clearly than their elders that college is not for them.” (Bird) I agree with what Bird is stating. Bird argues that forcing someone into doing something is never good. People sometimes know what is better for them. When Bird says “a child doesn’t want to go to school some morning, better let him stay home, at least until you find out why” is an amazing saying. Sometimes students are being bullied, or have just a lot of pressure being built upon them. Sometimes people need a while for them to figure out what they really want to do with their future. No one should be forced into doing something that they do not want to. I agree with Bird because even I personally give myself a day off from class. Being a student is not easy, I go through a lot of stress because of the studying and homework. When things are being forced, they start to lose value especially with education. Education will not mean the same to a student if it forced upon
