Carrie Compare Contrast Essay

Thirty-seven years ago, 1976, the movie Carrie was made. It is a horror film based on a novel by Stephen King. In the original movie Carrie was played by Sissy Spacek, who made the first film famous. Now it is the year 2013, almost four decades later, and there is a remake of the movie. Carrie is now played by a young teen, Chloe Grace Moretz. Even though it is two different people playing Carrie’s role, both Sissy and Chloe “nailed” her part. They were both miserable teens with a psychotic mother. They did not know anything about a period. Both had telekinetic powers. Both were considered weird to the student body. They also had long hair with pale skin and both attended prom and ended it. Now, what are ways Chloe and Sissy are similar and different? What makes these two comparable? For one reason, they both played the major role in the movie Carrie. Chloe Grace Moretz is an actual teen, sixteen years of age, playing a teen; though, she never had high school experience. She is home schooled by her mother As for Sissy Spacek, she was twenty six years of age. Sissy investigated the life of a high school teenager to know and get the feeling of her role. Chloe is a much prettier version of Carrie than Sissy. She could actually catch attention from others if she tried. In Sissy’s time, she felt as if ugly, weird looking girls were the rejects at school. This brought her to style her image as a plain, dull Carrie. Chloe did not really reveal herself or showed more nudity than Sissy. Chloe was just a minor and did not really have the ability, Sissy, on the other hand did. Chloe had more experience in acting than Sissy. Chloe was also drenched in more pig’s blood than Sissy. Sissy did not use her hands to show where things were thrown, but Chloe did. Sissy made it look very skeptical for the
